In the Centre for Prevention of Injuries in Performing Arts, CPAE; we have created a new treatment which assists the needs of musicians when they suffer from an injury or pain, not only in PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL conditions but also in their NEURONAL adaptations (Neuro-motor and Auditive)
OBJECTIVE: OBTAINING THE BEST POSSIBLE CONDITION WHILE IMPROVING ALL THE SKILLS OF THE ARTIST
The TREATMENT consists of the following parts:
1 - DIAGNOSIS via ANAMNESIS and POSTUROLOGY
1.1 - Anamnesis: complete medical history.
1.2 - Exploration of Posturology.
1.3 - Study in dinamics and statics, with and without the instrument.
2 - TREATMENT OF THE PAIN OR INJURY
3 - CREATION OF THE NEW MOTOR ACT linked to the FINAL DESIRED SONORITY.
4 - TRAINING
1: TREATMENT PLAN: DIAGNOSIS
Accomodate the treatment to the real present needs of the musician
1.1: Anamnesis: complete medical history: past injuries, type of pain, chronology, illnesses, pains, etc.
1.2: POSTUROLOGY APPLIED TO THE ARTIST. Funcional assessment to find the postural captors which alter posture.
1.3: Postural study in STATICS AND DYNAMICS, with and without the instrument.
Diagnosis and assessment of HOW the musician has injured themselves, how he came to make a motor act which injured themselves, which we will change and improve.
2: TREATMENT OF THE PAIN OR INJURY.
ADAPTING THE NEEDS PHYSICAL-PSYQUICAL AND EMOTIONAL.
Some instruments provoque trunk curvatures which postural reeducation will fix
We take into account physical characteristics (such as type of muscle, general and analytic muscle tone, posture in relation to the instrument, weight loading, method of contact and subjection, type, quantity and shape of the ergonomic material, instrument transportation, frictions and support points with the body, among others).
Emotional characteristics of the patient in relation to the instrument (amount of hours devoted to study, level of mastering and skills in corporal movement) and corporal conscience (type of method or technique already studied or used).
Psychological traces of the patient according to their relationship with the instrument, way of reacting, studies and or spectators (professional or student, challenges, satisfaction, stage fright, fear of failure, parents' disapointment or expectations created by the teacher of one self, etc.) This step greatly varies depending on whether the musician is a professional or a student.
3: Learn a New MOTOR ACT
We want you to save muscular energy and to improve PRECISION, SPEED AND MOTOR AND AUDITIVE COORDINATION. Once the diagnosis is ready, a new NEUROMOTOR and sensitive way is created which allow to include the NEW MOTOR ACT TOGETHER WITH THE FINAL DESIRED SOUND.
Sin apoyo en la zona de la espalda ni inclinación, és fácil que la zona lumbar pierda su lordosis natural
4: Outlining the guidelines for training and study according to:
Myofeedback activando la disminución de tono de la musculatura del antebrazo y maxilar inferior al mismo tiempo que se mejora la estabilitzación del tronco.
Actual studies, pieces or plays to perform at short and long term.
Hours devoted to studying per day, week and month.
Guidelines of corporal and ergonomic conditioning according to one's morphology, corporal structure, diet, pulmonar capacity, muscular and ligamental flexibility.
The treatment is also accomodated to the present-day needs of the artist, enquirying about the past and future of the artist's studies and rehearsals, their planning of the performances, the type of muscular activity, the structural morphotype (body shape according to the predominance of muscular chains) and the degree of anxiety and nervousness in stage.
All of these factors are assessed both in statics and in dynamics of the interpretative motor gesture.
Along the treatment, the artist is served with PERCEPTIVE, SENSORIAL AND RATIONAL POSITIVE STIMULI which reinforce the attitude in changing positively, concetrations and motor improvement.
On following sessions after the first visit, the treatment is constantly reoriented in relation to the patient's evolution. Each point mentioned before will be revised.
Treatment: 50 euros / 1,15 hours.
Check-ups: 46 euros / 1 h.
